FISH SPA IN BAGUIO

A pet supply store in the Baguio City Market hopes to start the doctor fish spa craze in the city by coming out with his own mini-foot spa inside the store itself. Clients can dip in their feet at the fish tank while hundreds of doctor fish, known as garra rufa (also known as nibble fish and kangal fish) nibble at them. Darwin Tan, owner of DAT Petshop, said that he imported the garra rufa from Turkey and hopes that spa in the city and lowlands can buy the fish from him later. The garra rufa nibble only at the dead and affected areas to skin, leaving the healthy skin alone. He said a starter kit of 300 garra rufa would be enough to start a business. Tan charges P120 per half hour of fish pedicure.
