The Pinag-isang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide or PISTON Baguio Chapter lead the noise barrage to protest against incessant increases in oil price and the alleged overpricing of oil products along Session Road at 12 noon Monday. The group joined the nationwide movement of the militant transport group to call for the government’s action to help the public transport sector.

Senator Loren legarda  visit   the Irisan dumpsite where 5 perished and numbers of houses destroyed  in the massive trashlside duing the onslaught of tyhoon Mina weeks ago. Legarda said this could have been prevented if only the law was followed as Baguio city mayor Mauricio Domogan listen to what Legarda was saying on how ton prevent another erosion.

Workers rushes to finish the repainting and major redesigning  of one of Baguo's historic building, the PUSO ng Baguio in Session road before another typhoon visits this northern mountain resort.

Fried rice, a fusion of asian and mediterrenian concoction as exhibited at the SM mall where they held the Rice Festival that fed around fifteen thousand mall goers 3 September 2011. The festival was participated in by the different restaurants sponsored by the Hotel and Restaurants Associations in Baguio city headed by their president Anthony De Leon.

AVALANCHE OF GARBAGE. The tons of garbage that cascaded to Asin Road after the retaining wall of the Irisan controlled dump facility in Baguio during the height of Typhoon Mina is now a subject of clearing operations by the City Government of Baguio and DPWH to prevent minor trash slide and occurrence of diseases due to the scattered garbage. Three person were also burried alive when the mountain of garbage  washed away several houses during the height of typhoon Mina.

President Benigno Aquino III answers queries of the local and national media during a press briefing at the Camp John Hay last week. The President visited Baguio City to switch on the lighting of the Burnham Park Complex which is a project of the Department of Energy.

A pet supply store in the Baguio City Market hopes to start the doctor fish spa craze in the city by coming out with his own mini-foot spa inside the store itself. Clients can dip in their feet at the fish tank while hundreds of doctor fish, known as garra rufa (also known as nibble fish and kangal fish) nibble at them. Darwin Tan, owner of DAT Petshop, said that he imported the garra rufa from Turkey and hopes that spa in the city and lowlands can buy the fish from him later. The garra rufa nibble only at the dead and affected areas to skin, leaving the healthy skin alone. He said a starter kit of 300 garra rufa would be enough to start a business. Tan charges P120 per half hour of fish pedicure.

43 year old Jordan Mangosan of the Tam Awan Village artist uses his soldeiring iron in putting the finishing touches in one of his pyrography drawing of his idol Manny Pacquiao for his future exhibit entitled PAC-MAN GREATEST HITS. Jordan and Igorota artist said that he also uses magnfying glass for his Solar drawing of his idol that are mostly done on plywood and canvass and mural size for most of the collections. Jordan said that he wish to meet up with his idol Pacquiao when he visits Baguio for his training.

A small village known for its pleasant and serene environment is becoming popular to adventure seekers, sports and outdoor events enthusiasts since the Pugo Adventure or PUGAD facility were set up and continuously being improved to cater to the public.
 
PUGAD had its soft opening last September 18 with Department of Tourism regional directors Martin Valera of Region 1 and Purificacion Molintas of the Cordillera region, together with San Fernando City top councilor Alfred Ortega, gracing the occasion.
 
With three zip lines, your childhood dream to be flying high like a bird is for real. You can be like Superman flying over 200 meters above verdant rice fields, trees and a clean river that flows right at the heart of the village of Kagaling.
 
Fun and excitement do not end with the zip lines. Well-trained guides are available to assist guests in rappelling and wall climbing.
 
Guests need not to be professional drivers to try PUGAD’s all terrain vehicles for them to tour the premises of the facility which is nestled in a three-hectare land, which forms part to the peaceful barangay of Palina.
 
Trekking is also fun and a dip at the clean river is perfect for tired souls.
 
PUGAD also caters to team-building and to small-group activities while the cottages, function hall and main building are still under construction.
 
At present, facilities being offered are the nipa huts, two outdoor pools for adults and children, clean toilets and shower rooms.
 
PUGAD is located 300 meters from the Marcos Highway after a 30-minute drive from Baguio City or more than an hour-drive from San Fernando City, La Union. Coming from Manila, the place can be reached in four hours.
 
Guests from far areas may opt to stay at the Traveller’s Inn, the nearest accommodation facility some 750 meters from PUGAD. Free shuttle service will be available for guest from the inn to the adventure facility.
